Grant Avenue Site Mural

Posted on: Monday, 5.30.2011

In May of 2011, The Center for Autism and Overbrook High School in Pine Hill, NJ celebrated the completion of a new mural on the façade of the Center’s Northeast Philadelphia location at 2801 Grant Avenue.  Over 25 staff and students, under the direction of New Jersey-based mural artist Larissa Danowitz, worked to complete this mural for the Center.

The artwork featured on the façade of the building has been replicated nearly exactly as it was painted on a wall at the Center’s former location at 3965 Conshohocken Avenue. This location was the Center’s only treatment location for over 30 years. The original artwork depicted children that attended the Center at the time. It was important to the Center to bring this mural to its Grant Avenue location so that we could bring a piece of our long-standing history with us to a new location.
