Awards Celebration & Fundraiser Raises Over $30,000

The Center for Autism’s Awards Celebration & Fundraiser honoring Hock Tan & Lisa Yang with the Small Miracles Award & Dr. Margaret Souders with the Dr. Bertram A. Ruttenberg Award was held on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at the Union Trust in Philadelphia. The event raised over $30,000, and proceeds will support our evaluation & treatment services for the community.

Hock Tan & Lisa Yang are the founders of the Yang-Tan Institute on Employment Disability at Cornell University, and founders of the Hock E. Tan and K. Lisa Yang Center for Autism Research at MIT. Mr. Tan is also the President and Chief Executive Officer of Broadcom. They have two adult children on the autism spectrum, and are being recognized with the Small Miracles Award for their significant philanthropic efforts toward developing autism research and employment opportunities.

Dr. Margaret Souders is an Assistant Professor of Human Genetics at the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing’s Department of Behavioral Health Sciences. She is also a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia’s Department of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Health Sciences. Dr. Souders is being recognized with the Dr. Bertram A. Ruttenberg Award for her advocacy and service to children with neurodevelopmental disabilities and their families.
