The Center Welcomes New Medical Director
The Center for Autism is pleased to announce the appointment of Joel Bregman, M.D. as the new Medical Director. In this role, Dr. Bregman will oversee all of the Center’s clinical services, including assessments, evaluations, psychiatry, and treatment programs. He will also serve as the Center’s liaison in the medical community.
Dr. Bregman is coming to the Center with over 25 years of experience in the field, and extensive background and expertise in Autism Spectrum Disorders. He most recently was the Executive Director at the Thompson Center for Autism and Neurodevelopmental Disorders and Professor of Clinical Psychiatry at the University of Missouri. Dr. Bregman has also held the positions of Medical Director and Director of Clinical Research at the Fay J. Lindner Center for Autism and Developmental Disorders in New York, and has held faculty appointments at Yale University, Emory University, and the University of Connecticut.
Dr. Bregman is Board Certified in General and Child/Adolescent Psychiatry, and was awarded his M.D. from the Yale University School of Medicine. He received his residency and fellowship training at Stanford University, Yale University, the University of Pittsburgh, and the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Bregman has been awarded several honors, and has participated in numerous research projects and publications on autism and related disorders.
The Center welcomes Dr. Joel Bregman to this growing organization, and knows that he will truly help provide better outcomes for many individuals with autism and their families.
